It feels like a continuation of the movie Groundhog Day. The atmosphere is unchanging. I have the impression of the same things repeating themselves over and over again and it is an entire fabrication by the prosecution. The only change is that, as I feel it, a new investigation is under way, as new names of people and companies that do not figure in the indictment begin to be mentioned. Most likely, they are trying to make up something new. The current indictment looks so absurd that I do not rule out that an order has been given to produce a new fabricated case. The witness, I understand, is hooked by the prosecution, judging by what he was saying, rather, was trying NOT to say. He is also a defendant under this criminal case. For a man in such a situation it is rather difficult to give objective testimony. Still, for a man finding himself in such a complicated situation and apparently blackmailed by the prosecution, which, no doubt, is a crime, [he was up to par]. I think that Lakhtins todays behavior will one day lead to the opening of a criminal case, because it was absolutely evident that he was not simply exerting pressure on the witness but was concealing very important facts that the witness is at the same time a defendant and is forced to adjust his actions and his testimony to the threats from the prosecution. I believe that Yurov behaved in these conditions rather properly. He tried by all means to smooth his testimony given at the preliminary investigation... |
