Letsplaychess.com presents The Last Round Puzzle - a puzzle taken from a fictional story, which has a game based on a real life game. The real life game was featured in Irving Chernev's The Chess Companion, Simon and Schuster, 1968 and originally appeared in "Chess World" in 1947 The game was played between Rudolph Charousek (White) and J. Wollner in Kaschau, 1893. Charousek was 20 years old when he won the game. Though he was hailed as a potential World Champion, he died tragically of tuberculosis at the age of 26. |
